Electron Backscatter Diffraction can be a powerful tool in crystallography to determine grain orientation, strain, and phase.
The study of Crystallography would not be possible without this process carried out on a Scanning Electron Microscope, but as surface topography is critical during these examinations we need to ensure perfect preparation to gain the best possible information.
This webinar will focus on:
• Mechanical preparation to achieve a perfectly prepared surface for use in SEM for EBSD
• Dispelling common beliefs that these highly demanding applications require specialist equipment and techniques that are not always available to the metallographer
• Examining standard mechanical preparation methods that can achieve results as good or better on several examples of very demanding applications that can challenge even the most experienced metallographer
