High Volume: Preparation of Tungsten Carbide

Do you prepare tungsten carbide? If so, learn the latest materialographic tips and methods from Struers applications team as they discuss preparing these specimens in a high volume capacity.

Tungsten carbide is a challenging material for preparation due to its extremely high hardness and wear resistance. Sintered tungsten carbide materials are often used as cutting tools due to their high resistance to abrasion and toughness.

To perform quality control on these materials, materialographic samples must be prepared. Large volumes of sample materials are best processed on fully automatic grinding and polishing machines, which guarantee a fast and efficient workflow and reproducible results. Please join us as we present the Xmatic for high volume preparation of tungsten carbide.

In this webinar attendees will learn about:
  • High throughput sample preparation
  • Consumables used in the tungsten carbide method
  • Automated cleaning to reduce the risk of contamination
